Jennifer. S. Dean

 

Jennifer Dean is a champion when it comes to addressing the issues of at-risk youth and a true advocate for young girls. 

 

Always active in the community, Jennifer founded Mosaic LOVE in September of 2009.  Mosaic LOVE provides comprehensive services to children, youth and their families that are asset-deficient, residentially-challenged, and economically-disadvantaged.  Mosaic LOVE provides a transformative mentoring program that assists in developing the lives of youth whose lives, in specific but not exclusively, have been or are currently being affected by displacement, drugs, crime or violence with the prospect that they will conquer poverty to become self-dependant residents of the Washington, DC, PG County area.     Through a collaboration of resources, community-based businesses, government agencies, other non-profit organizations, parents and the community Jennifer is dedicated to reaching and changing the community. 

 

In addition to her duties with Mosaic LOVE, Jennifer is also the CEO of Mosaic Solutions, LLC, a  boutique public relations and marketing development company located in Washington, DC, that offers web & graphic design, internet marketing, and copy-writing, with a mission to service not-for-profit organizations, social enterprises, environmental organizations, sustainable businesses and the public sector with various marketing tools to help enhance and enlarge their business.  

 

 

Ms. Dean is also able to direct her passion with her full-time position as a Trainer & Vocational Development Specialist/Case Coordinator for the ESA/DHS in the OWO.

 

Along with her successful business ventures, Jennifer is a diligent advocate for Washington, DC communities.  Jennifer has worked closely with the Mayors Youth Advisory Board; serves as Executive Board Community Relations Chair of the Urban Bridge Builders; she serves as Secretary and Queen Esther of the OES Alpha Chapter No.2; served as Campaign Finance Treasurer for Ward 8 State Board of Education candidate Trayon White and Director of Social Marketing for HRT Group.  She is the former Deputy Director of Young Ladies of Tomorrow, Strategic Planning Framework State Incentive Grant Coordinator for the DC Prevention Center in conjunction with Department of Health and Sasha Bruce Youthworks and Researcher for DeWayne Wickham,  USA Today Columnist and Institute for Advanced Journalism Director.

 

Jennifer graduated from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University with a Bachelor Degree in Journalism & Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Business Administration.  While attending NC A&T, Jennifer served as President of the National Association of Black Journalist, NC A&T Chapter.

 

Jennifer recently completed her studies in Non-Profit Management at Duke University.

 

In her spare time Jennifer enjoys volunteering, networking, traveling, perusing unique vintage boutiques and thrift shops, spending time with her amazing circle of friends and playing and watching all sports.

 

 "I'm proud to be a part of organizations that have touched the lives of so many young girls, women and their families.  As a mentor and advocate for youth, one of my ultimate goals in life is to the spread the message of self-worth to girls nationwide." 

 

She believes if you educate a girl, you educate a wife. When you educate a wife, you educate a mother-which eventually leads to educating a family.
